As the mandated coordinating body for GIS activities in the Commonwealth of Virginia, VGIN works with local governments on several projects. The VBMP Orthophotography is designed to serve the needs of state agencies and local governments. The base photography for each flight is given to each local government at no charge. The Statewide Road Centerline Program combines road data from VDOT and local government to create a set of data that is more useful to all involved.
