VGIN possesses a modern, robust platform for hosting GIS applications. Current hosted applications include the Council for Virginia’s Future and the Virginia Department of Forestry.
The Geospatial Enterprise Platform is constructed of Microsoft Windows servers running ESRI’s ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, and ArcSDE software. The system boasts over 10TB of disk storage in a Microsoft SQL Server database.
Systems in the Platform are built redundantly to provide maximum uptime for applications. The Platform includes an entire test system which duplicates the services available in production.
