State Agency GIS representatives:

I'm sending this email to remind you that VITA rates for Geospatial
Services will become effective in Fiscal Year 2009 on July 1, 2008.  We
again want to make sure you are fully aware of the timeline and the
nature of these rates so that your agency can budget accordingly if you
choose to utilize these services.

If you recall from fall of 2006, Steve Marzolf met individually with
most of the agencies who utilize GIS to support their agency's business,
in order to obtain feedback on a proposed geospatial services rate
structure.  For those who we could not meet with, a PowerPoint
presentation containing the same information was widely circulated in an
attempt to reach out to as many agencies as possible.  VITA was mandated
by the General Assembly to submit a proposed rate structure for
geospatial services to the Joint Legislative Action Review Committee
(JLARC) for approval.  Your feedback was very helpful in guiding us
through this task.

Based upon continued agency feedback, we have simplified and lowered the
rates for high resolution imagery as well as added other optional
services that are now available.  We will provide the rate structure to
you in the very near future.  Thank you for helping us to define the
best way to structure these.

To summarize:

- Rate structure for Geospatial Services effective July 1, 2008
- No fees for access to 2002 VBMP imagery
- No fees for access to 2006/2007 imagery
- No fees for access to any other VBMP enterprise base map data through
June 30, 2008
