The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is currently seeking an Environmental Specialists II to perform database management, Citrix administration, web application, and GIS tasks in support of the State's nonpoint source pollution programs.
This is a full time, full benefits position in Richmond, VA.    More information about this position is available through the Commonwealth's Recruitment Management System (RMS) at http://jobs.agencies.virginia.gov (position number 00760 at DCR).  A state application must be submitted via RMS by 7/24/07.

Unmentioned but implied in the information available at the RMS site is that the applicant's DBMS and GIS experiences may include educational experience, and that experience may be with database management systems and geographic information systems other than those used at DCR.  Also, for all work at DCR an environmental/conservation ethic is a plus.

The tasks of this position are primarily database management related rather than GIS related.   DCR will be recruiting for a Geoinformatic Specialist shortly to primarily perform GIS related tasks.   Applicants for the Database/Citrix position may be considered for either position.
