Virginia Base Mapping Program - Road Centerline's April 2008 release

Virginia Information Technologies Agency is pleased to announce the
April 2008 release of the Virginia Base Mapping Program's Road
Centerline dataset. Changes for this release include: fully populated
V_LEID values and V_FIPS codes. VBMP-RCL change codes and change dates
are now available as well as geometric end-points and segments. These
new attributes are described in the metadata document.

This release has geometry updates, and address attribution and local ID
updates (if provided) for the following localities:
ALBEMARLE	BOTETOURT CAMPBELL	CHARLOTTESVILLE
CITY
CHESTERFIELD	ISLE OF WIGHT	LOUDOUN	MANASSAS CITY
NEW KENT	PULASKI	PRINCE WILLIAM	RICHMOND CITY
RICHMOND CO.	SMYTH	SUFFOLK	WYTHE	YORK

Please remember that the ongoing goal of the VBMP is to establish a
consistent, seamless base and foundation for local and state government
mapping systems (GIS) that will help us all increase our operational
efficiency and reduce redundant efforts in developing these road-based
addressing systems. To this end we look forward to your review,
comments, and your next road centerline file submission to update the
VBMP RCL.
