Changes for this release include: fully populated V_LEID values and V_FIPS codes. VBMP-RCL change codes and change dates are now available as well as geometric end-points and segments. These new attributes are described in the metadata document. This release has geometry updates, and address attribution and local ID updates (if provided) for the following localities: ALBEMARLE BOTETOURT CAMPBELL CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY CHESTERFIELD ISLE OF WIGHT LOUDOUN MANASSAS CITY NEW KENT PULASKI PRINCE WILLIAM RICHMOND CITY RICHMOND CO. SMYTH SUFFOLK WYTHE YORK Please remember that the ongoing goal of the VBMP is to establish a consistent, seamless base and foundation for local and state government mapping systems (GIS) that will help us all increase our operational efficiency and reduce redundant efforts in developing these road-based addressing systems. Access Directions for RCL data: Access to your locality download site is available through the following process: * The VGIN FTP Server must be accessed using an FTP client. * All Data transferred from VGIN is located in the "/outgoing" folder on the FTP Site. * The VGIN FTP Server Host Name/Address is: vgin.vipnet.org * Use the User Name and Password supplied by VGIN to log onto the area of the server set up for your jurisdiction. If you do not have FTP client software on your desktop, you can download a free copy at the following address: http://www.vipnet.org/customer/ws_ftple.exe. 1 Connect to the site using the above link or copy and paste the link into your web browser. 2 Install the FTP client application 3 Create a short cut for the application to your desktop. 4 Double click on the desktop shortcut and log onto the VGIN FTP Site by entering the following information into the Session Properties form: a. The Host Name/Address is: vgin.vipnet.org b. The User Name: As supplied by VGIN c. Password: As supplied by VGIN d. Once you have logged onto the site, the application window will show two directory lists. The screen on the left shows your "Local System" directory structure. The screen on the right shows the "Remote Site" (VGIN FTP Server) directory structure. e. Double click on the "outgoing" folder in the "remote site" Screen f. Navigate to your local directory location in the "Local System" screen where the files you are uploading are located. g. Drag the file(s) from the "Local System" screen to the "Remote Site" screen to transfer the files to the FTP server S.
