In addition to the regional dataset, an updated version of your locality's RCL data is available in your locality's "Outgoing" folder of the VGIN FTP site that you utilize to send in your RCL updates. Instructions are at the end of this email. Regional RCL: Rather than invent new regions we utilized are the Planning District Commission boundaries. We realize that there will always be a jurisdiction that borders another region. For this you can simply download the neighboring region. The regional RCL is a seamless, fully geocoded regional RCL dataset based upon your locality input data. Local RCL: Local RCL is taken from the statewide dataset, clipped to your locality and contains both your input data as well as VDOT route numbers. It also can be used for geocoding. NOTES: - There are a few folders under "Outgoing" which contain the centerline data. We understand that not all ArcGIS software users are up to the latest version so you will find two folders; one with 9.2 Personal Geodatabase data and one with Shapefiles. - This data has locality and VDOT submissions up to December 31st, 2007. Our goal is to provide you updates every quarter and include the latest RCL - Please review this data: build topologies, compare geometries, view attributes, browse the metadata, and perform geocoding. The data should first and foremost reflect a locality dataset. This should be extremely beneficial on a regional level due to the RCL's seamlessness. Please remember that the RCL program is a work in progress. Your local data submissions and your critique of the returned RCL product are critical for this product to be successful. Feel free to contact Michael Vojta at Michael.vojta@vita.virginia.gov (804 416 6205) or Kenny Brevard at Kenny.Brevard@vita.virginia.gov (804 416 6204) with question, report errors, and suggestions. - In the future we plan on making additional VDOT business data associated with the RCL once VDOT completes its full migration to RCL within their internal systems. Thank you for participating in the RCL Program. We look forward to providing outputs on a regular basis.
