The memo about changes to the license is available at: http://www.isp.virginia.gov/geopdf/VBMP_License_Restate_Sept2007.pdf. In this document you will see that localities are empowered as "agents" to distribute the imagery for their jurisdiction using the pricing guidelines established by VGIN. The pricing document is now available for your use. You may find it at: http://www.isp.virginia.gov/geoxls/JurisdictionalPrice_06_07.xls There are two sections to this document. The top portion includes prices for imagery for an entire jurisdiction. The bottom section lists prices for small numbers of individual tiles. You will find that the prices are established to make small numbers of tiles affordable but for the person wishing to purchase large numbers of tiles, it quickly becomes more economical to purchase the entire jurisdictional set. It may make sense to create a small number of jurisdictional DVD sets, as inventory, if you anticipate many sales. Please remember that any funds collected by a jurisdiction for imagery sales are retained by the jurisdiction. Any requests for data outside of your area should be forwarded to the relevant jurisdiction. For the most part, VGIN will refer data sales requests to the relevant jurisdiction. Should you not wish to distribute data, VGIN can distribute the data for you. Of course, we will retain the funds for any orders that we fill. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
