Dorothy,
Please forward this to the distribution list and ask that replies be
sent to me.
Thanks
Pat

The Roanoke County Emergency Communication Center is seeking information
from other PSAPs concerning staffing, shift assignments and scheduling.

Our staffing questions are, (1) how many 911 calls do you receive and
process and (2) how many dispatchers are dedicated to Police, how many
are dedicated to Fire and Rescue and, if any, call takers?

Shift assignments, (1) what criteria do you use when making shift
assignments and (2) how do you deal with the problem of all you senior
people on one shift leaving your junior people on the less popular and
often the most busy (evening and midnight) shifts?

Scheduling, what schedule you use? (1) Is it 8, 10, or 12 hours shifts,
(2) do you rotate and if so how often and (3) do you offer pay
incentives, ie., shift differential, for shifts other than daylight?

Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
