Greetings:

Please be advised that the deadline for submitting an FY 09 PSAP Grant
application has been extended to Friday, January 11th. As you are
aware, the web-based grant submission form has been completed and was
made available to PSAPs to submit their funding requests as part of the
FY 09 funding cycle. This was phase I in the development of the PSAP
Grant application. Phase II was the completion of the interface to
allow staff and Committee members to access submitted applications and
for localities to monitor the approval process. Unfortunately, the
current budget situation in Virginia, which requires additional
justification and approval steps when using outside consultants, has
impacted the timeline to complete the PSAP Grant application.

In addition to a delay in completing Phase II of the PSAP grant
application, I am aware that several PSAPs have experienced difficulty
in submitting their grant applications. This extension should give
localities additional time to work with their regional coordinators to
complete a funding request.

If you have any questions about making a funding request, please do not
hesitate to contact me or your regional coordinator. In closing, I
would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy, and safe Holiday season.
Thanks.
