I would like to join the Governor in expressing my appreciation to hundreds of men and women that answer our citizens' calls for help. They are truly the FIRST first responder in providing assistance during an emergency, no matter how big or how small. The 9-1-1 service in the Commonwealth is one of the most reliable and trusted of all government services because of their dedication and professionalism. Of course, because most of their work is behind the scenes of the emergency, they are also often forgotten and under appreciated. Public-Safety Telecommunicator Week is an opportunity for us to correct that and honor the work they do. Please extend my appreciation to your staff and make sure they know that this coming week is dedicated to their outstanding work. Unfortunately, I do not yet have a great copy of the proclamation yet (I will try to update it next week with a better scan), but you can download a B/W copy of it at: http://www.va911.org/Public-Safety_Telecommunicator_Week.pdf Have a wonderful weekend...and have a great Public-Safety Telecommunicator Week!!!
